The Orange Crate is owned and operated by The Yessick family of Northport, Alabama. Bill, Beth, and Michael Yessick opened the Orange Crate in 1996 wanting to provide unfinished, solid wood furniture to the Central Alabama area. Michael and Rita Yessick branched out into Columbus, Mississippi in 2005; however, the Columbus branch lost its lease and closed in September 2008.
The name Orange Crate came from stories that Michael’s grandfather would tell about people using orange crates as furniture back during the Great Depression. Michael always wanted to name a furniture store The Orange Crate. Our furniture is Solid Wood that can be customized and finished your way!
